Extreme Heat Coming To RI Later In The Week
Rhode Island is gearing up for a hot week amid high levels of humidity and a severe drought that continues to cover most of New England.
RHODE ISLAND — After a little break from the heat this past weekend, Rhode Island is expected to get whacked with yet another hot week.
Between the heat and humidity, we're looking at a scorcher mid-week as temps soar into the mid 90s, according to AccuWeather.
With most of the state still under a severe drought, that trend looks like it is going to continue as most of us won't see rain until at least Friday, though a thunderstorm is possible Tuesday as well.

The mugginess is likely to linger as most of us reach mid-90s Tuesday afternoon. A cold front is on the way and should hit a good chunk of the Ocean State by Tuesday night, which should provide a little relief - for now. But that cold front should only hit a few areas, and scattered showers will likely be brief.
Wednesday will feel nice, with most temperatures lingering in the mid-80s before the extreme heat picks up by mid-morning Thursday, AccuWeather predicts.
