Ground Beef Recalled Over E. Coli Concerns
The potentially contaminated products were sold in stores across the country.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Certain ground beef products have been recalled over concerns of E. coli contamination, the Rhode Island Department of Health announced. The Lakeside Refrigerated Services products were sold in grocery stores across the country.
In total, 42,922 pounds of ground beef are included in the recall. All were produced on June 1 and have the establishment number "EST. 46841" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

E. coli is a bacterium that causes dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps for three to four days, on average. In rare cases, patients can develop kidney failure, especially older adults under children less than five years old.
