More Kmarts Closing: Garfield Avenue Store In Cranston Is On The List
Twenty-eight more Kmart stores are now closing, and the Cranston location is on the list.

CRANSTON, RI—The Kmart on Garfield Avenue in Cranston is on a list of 28 stores to be shuttered, according to Sears Holding Corp., which owns the stores and just reported another quarterly operating loss. No date has been set for the Cranston Kmart's closing.
The latest round of store closings comes on top of the 180 Sears-owned stores which have already been announced. Dozens of Sears and Kmart stores have already closed this year as the company tries to overcome steep losses in sales and huge operating costs.
Total revenue fell 22 percent to $4.37 billion, mainly due to store closings, which shaved off $770 million of revenue.
