Temperatures in the 90's are forecast for early this week, except at the coast where it will be cooler and in the mid 70's.

CRANSTON, RI — For much of the state, temperatures could hit 90 degrees tomorrow. And go higher. The exception will be at the coast. While Newport's supposed to stay around 75, Woonsocket could be almost 20 degrees warmer, the National Weather Service says. Tuesday, the entire state is under an air quality alert, per the state Department of Environmental Services. Ground level ozone could be a problem, the DEM said, for people with lung disease, older adults and children. Thunderstorms are expected to pass through Rhode Island on Tuesday afternoon, but the storms will be unpredictable. Some locations could be in for severe weather, while others may not see any storm.
