MA Man Who Trafficked Methamphetamine In Rhode Island Sentenced To 4 Years In Prison

CRANSTON, RI — A Massachusetts man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to four years in prison for trafficking methamphetamine in Rhode Island.

Peter Walkovich, 38, of Pepperell, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty in March to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with into to distribute methamphetamine.

Walkovich was arrested on May 22, 2022, shortly after he drove away from a Cranston home under surveillance by the FBI. Prosecutors said they found three backpacks in Walkovich's vehicle and other packaging materials containing more than 461 grams of pure crystal meth and $21,711 in cash.

Following Walkovich's prison sentence, he must serve three years of federal supervised release.
