CRANSTON, RI —The hours of the Sockanosset Cross Road mass vaccine site changed this week. Effective Tuesday, the facility will be open Tuesday through Saturday.

The new hours limit the hours to morning only or afternoon to evening only, on alternating days.

  • Tuesday: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday: 7 a.n. to 2 p.m.
  • Friday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Cranston site, the first mass vaccination site to open in the state, is the only large-scale facility still open in the state. The sites at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence and former Benny's store in Middletown closed in June. Sockanosset is slated to stay open through the summer, and will likely continue to operate into the fall, state officials said earlier this summer.

The closure of the other mass vaccine sites were part of the state's transition to smaller, pop-up vaccine clinics, as well as integrating vaccines into the existing health care infrastructure.
