Oakland Beach In Warwick Reopens: Bacteria Levels Normal

The Rhode Island Department of Health reopened Oakland Beach on Sunday after water test samples showed bacteria to be at safe levels.

WARWICK, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) reopened Oakland Beach on Sunday after water test samples showed bacteria to be at safe levels.

On Friday, RIDOH closed Oakland Beach for swimming because of high bacteria counts in the water.

A press release from RIDOH said the department will continue to test bodies of water where people swim until the end of the summer.
