Crews worked all day to clear sidewalks steps near schools but Mother Nature wasn't cooperating, with mixed precipitation falling all day and temperatures falling below freezing by sunset, leaving a glaze of ice.
School officials posted the delay around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
