Over Two Dozen RI Flights Impacted By Wednesday Storm

Several flights into and out of T.F. Green have been canceled or delayed.

WARWICK, R.I. -- As much of the eastern U.S. is battered with snow and rain, hundreds of flights have been impacted across the country, including more than two dozen in Rhode Island.

As of 1 p.m., eight flights scheduled to arrive at T.F. Green airport were canceled, and several others were delayed. Meanwhile, ten scheduled departures were listed as canceled.

With the heaviest impacts slated to hit Rhode Island Wednesday evening, T.F. Green officials are encouraging travelers to check the arrivals and departures boards for the most up to date information about flights, or to check in with individual airlines.

Across the country, hundreds of flights have been canceled. According to the website FlightAware, which tracks flight operations, nearly 2,000 flights have been canceled within and into or out of the United States on Wednesday. FlightAware's live map shows a significant number of delays and cancelations at D.C.-area airports, at Chicago O'Hare and at airports in the New York City area.

Several major airlines are offering customers flight vouchers to allow flight changes without paying a cancellation fee.
