Police ID Cranston Man As Victim In Fatal Seekonk Crash
Peter Weaver, 56, was walking in the left lane of I-195 West when he was hit by a car, police said.
CRANSTON, RI — A Rhode Island man was killed in a crash in Seekonk on Oct. 3, Massachusetts State Police said Monday. 56-year-old Peter Weaver of Cranston died after he was hit by a car on Interstate 195 West.
The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. last Thursday between Exits 1 and 2. The victim, later identified as Weaver, was hit by a driver in a 2019 Toyota Rav4, police said. When emergency crews arrived, Weaver was laying in the left lane, unconscious. He was taken to Rhode island Hospital, where he later died. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
Police determined that Weaver had been walking towards oncoming traffic in the left lane of I-195 at the time of the crash, though it's unclear why.
