Update: Police Investigating Serious Cranston Crash

The three-car crash happened at around 6 p.m. Four people were hurt.

Three cars crashed in a serious accident in Cranston Friday night that sent four people to the hospital.

All are expected to survive after suffering non life-threatening injuries, police said.

The crash happened at around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Laurel Hill and Maplewood Avenues.

The crash caused one car to end up on its side and sent another onto a lawn as the impact scattered debris and personal possessions across the street.

Police taped off the road as during the investigation as residents looked on.

A witness said that the accident was caused by someone driving through a stop sign.

Police said that one of the drivers had a suspended license.
