Providence Man Found Guilty Of 3 Counts Of Child Molestation

Julio Sosa, 31, was found guilty of three counts of first-degree child molestation.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was found guilty of three counts of first-degree child molestation in Providence County Superior Court last week. Julio Sosa, 31, is being held at the Adult Correctional Institution in Cranston until his sentencing.

From August 2013 until October 2014, Sosa repeatedly molested a nine-year -old child he had had custody of for seven years. The victim reported the abuse two years later at age 11.

Sosa has been on home confinement since 2017 as a condition of his bail.

The jury found Sosa guilty of three counts of first-degree child molestation after one day of deliberation on Nov. 1, following a seven-day trial. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
