Rhode Island's governor is reportedly on the short list of candidates to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

PROVIDENCE, RI โ Rhode Island's governor is on the short list of candidates to be President-elect Joe Biden's secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, according to reports.
Politico reported Gina Raimondo is under consideration for the position, along with several other candidates. New Mexico Gov. Lujan Grisham and former Surgeon General Vivek Murthy are believed to be the top contenders for the position, the report said.
Over the summer, rumors swirled that Raimondo was under consideration to be Biden's vice presidential pick. When asked if she was in the running, Raimondo, a Democrat, said she was focusing her energy on handling the coronavirus pandemic in the state.
