Rec Department Announces Saturday Morning Children's Sports Programs

Sign-up now for indoor tennis and basketball. Basketball is for K-8; and tennis is for ages 6-12.

CRANSTON, RI — The city parks and rec department is now accepting registration for Saturday morning basketball and indoor tennis. According to Scott Sevegny, both programs launch on Nov. 19 and run every Saturday through March 18.

Saturday Morning Basketball teaches the fundamentals for Kindergarten through middle school. The K-2 class is at Pastore Youth Center, and the older kids meet at Western Hills and Park View.

Registration fee is $25 per child.

Winter Indoor Tennis is aimed at beginners, aged 6-12, who want to build skills. This is instructional program; there is no match play. Program runs at Hugh B Bain gymnasium. The fee is $85 per person.

Register at the Recreation Office, 1090 Cranston St., 2nd floor. Registration is accepted Mondays thru Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
