Rhode Island Coronavirus Cases Top 10,000

In total, there have been 10,205 cases of coronavirus in Rhode Island and 370 deaths.

PROVIDENCE, RI โ€” Rhode Island's total number of coronavirus cases passed 10,000 Wednesday with the announcement of 272 new cases. The Rhode Island Department of Health also announced 15 more deaths, bringing the total to 370.

Rhode Island appears to be continuing the mostly plateaued trend of cases numbers, with overall numbers showing a general downward trend since the last week of April. Monday saw a slight increase in cases compared to the weekend, but the total still remains lower than much of last week, according to the latest data from the department.

Hospitalizations, meanwhile, have continued to hold relatively steady, as well. As of Wednesday, there were 324 people in the hospital total ,and, of those, 86 were in intensive care units and 60 were on ventilators.
