Rhode Island Named In Top 10 Of States For Safety: WalletHub
The Ocean State fared well in several key categories, including murders, fatal occupational injuries, assaults per capita, and bullying.

RHODE ISLAND โ Rhode Island is the ninth-best state in the U.S. when it comes to safety, according to new data from WalletHub.
The personal finance website weighed 52 key metrics in determining the ranking, from assaults per capita to the total loss amount from climate disasters per capita to the unemployment rate.
The Ocean State fared well in several key categories, including murders and non-negligent manslaughters per capita, fatal occupational injuries per 100,000 full-time workers, assault per capita, the bullying incidence rate, and more. Rhode Island's ranking in its strongest categories are listed below:

Vermont was ranked number one overall, followed by Maine, New Hampshire, Utah, and Massachusetts to round out the top five. Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas were at the end of the list. The top 10 safest states, according to WalletHub, are listed below:
