Rhode Island Reports 175 New Coronavirus Cases; 21 Deaths
Rhode Island has seen a drop in the number of new cases reported over the past few days.

PROVIDENCE, RI —The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 175 new cases of coronavirus Monday and 21 additional deaths. To date, there have been 9,652 total cases and 341 deaths.
The past three days have seen a steep drop in the number of new cases reported. On Friday, there were 327 new cases, followed by 188 on Saturday and 175 Sunday. There were 24 deaths reported Sunday.
The number of Rhode Islanders hospitalized with COVID-19 remains relatively high at 339, with 84 in an intensive care unit and 61 on ventilators. The latest projections from the Department of Health predict the "relative plateau" of hospitalizations to continue to hold steady between 300 and 350, while the decline projection shows a gradual drop over the coming weeks.

"I'm asking you to not give in to that temptation," the governor said Saturday. "The stay-at-home order is not lifted."
