Rhode Island's Average Gas Price Climbs To $3.03

"Peak summer driving season is in full-swing as Americans hit the road to explore, and gas prices are not backing down," according to AAA.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Island's average gas prices continued to climb over the last week, climbing two cents to $3.03 per gallon.

Lloyd Albert, a spokesperson for AAA Northeast, said hi prices are here to stay for drivers.

"Peak summer driving season is in full-swing as Americans hit the road to explore, and gas prices are not backing down," Albert said. "On average, motorists are paying almost a dollar more a gallon than last summer to fill up and close to 40 cents more than in 2019."

The average price per gallon in Rhode Island is considerably lower than the national average of $3.14, 11 cents higher. This time last month, the average cost was 6 cents cheaper at $2.97.
