PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 181 new cases of coronavirus in Rhode Island and six additional deaths Thursday. This brings the state's totals to 12,016 cases and 468 deaths.

"We're still seeing a plateau, which is good news. It should give you confidence," Gov. Gina Raimondo said Wednesday.

The governor and health department are focused on reducing case numbers in densely populated, urban areas, which have high concentrations of cases. Population-adjusted data rates show that Central Falls has the highest cases numbers with a rate of 3,446 per 100,000 people. To date, 13 percent of the city's population has been tested, 27 percent of whom tested positive.

Following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, the goal is to be below a 10 percent infection rate in each city, Raimondo said. More testing will be conducted in these areas to get a better idea of infection rates, she said.

Below are the latest town-by-town coronavirus case numbers for Rhode Island, current as of Wednesday night.
