PROVIDENCE, RI — There are only a few days left to request a mail ballot for the Nov. 3 general election. Mail ballot requests must be received by election officials no later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, not just postmarked by that date.

"Monday is a holiday, so if you want to vote from home but haven’t submitted your mail ballot application yet, please drop off your application instead of mailing it," Rhode Island Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea said. "And remember that voting from home is just one of your safe and secure voting options. You can also choose to vote early in-person or vote at the polls on Election Day. Learn more about your voting options by going to vote.ri.gov or calling 2-1-1."

Mail ballot applications can be dropped off at the voter's local board of canvassers during business hours, or dropped into a secure drop box. Voters are encouraged to call in advance and make an appointment for in-person delivery. Secure drop boxes have been set up across the state, including at the Secretary of State's office at 148 West River Street in Providence.
