RI Gas Prices Hit 18-Month Low

Gas prices have continued to drop across Rhode Island, reaching an 18-month low.

Gas prices dropped another two cents in the past week, reaching their lowest local levels in 18 months. According to AAA Northeast, the average price is $2.30 per gallon.

Rhode Island's average gas price is three cents higher than the national average of $2.27 per gallon. Just one year ago, the average cost per gallon in that state was $2.61.

“The northeast continues to have some of the strongest supplies of gasoline anywhere in the country,” said Lloyd Albert, AAA Northeast senior vice president of public and government affairs. “This has helped keep prices from rising, unlike the jumps being seen in half of the nation.”
