RI Governor's Weekly News Conferences Moved To Thursdays
Gov. Gina Raimondo will address the public each week at 1 p.m. on Thursdays going forward, instead of Wednesdays.

PROVIDENCE, RI โ Gov. Gina Raimondo's weekly press conferences have been moved to Thursdays going forward, her director of communications confirmed Tuesday. The change goes into effect this week.
The exception to the new schedule is next week, when Raimondo will address Rhode Islanders on Wednesday at 1 p.m. to accommodate for the Thanksgiving holiday.
"Our COVID press conferences were on Thursdays the past two weeks, and we received a lot of feedback that more people were able to tune in," Josh Block said on Twitter. "So, beginning this week, our weekly pressers will be on Thursday at 1 p.m., except for next week when it will remain on Wednesday because of the holiday."

The governor's last two weekly addresses were moved to Thursday due to the election and Veterans Day, respectively.
Raimondo has been holding news conferences throughout the coronavirus pandemic, giving updates every day, including weekends, when the pandemic was at its height in the spring. These were then reduced to only a few days per week, and have been held once weekly for the past several months.
