RI Primary Election 2022: Early Voting Begins Wednesday In Cranston
See where and when you can vote early in Coventry in the 2022 primary election.

CRANSTON, RI — Election season is fast approaching in Cranston and the rest of Rhode Island. Starting Wednesday, early voting will begin in the city and the rest of the Ocean State.
Cranston residents are able to cast a ballot early, mail-in their votes, or vote at their polling place. Here's some important dates to know:
- Primary election date: Sept. 13
- Voter registration deadline (general election): Sept. 9
- Vote-by-mail application deadline: Aug. 23
- Early voting: Begins Aug. 24 Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Peter T. Pastore Jr. Youth Center at 155 Gansett Ave.
- Election day polling hours: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Register to vote online here.

- Governor: Five Democrats and three Republicans are vying for the role of governor, after current Gov. Daniel McKee took over for Gina Raimondo when she was appointed as US Commerce Secretary. The Democrats are: McKee, Helena Buonanno Foulkes, Matthew A. Brown, Nellie M. Gorbea and Luis Daniel Munoz. The Republicans are: David Darlington, Ashley Kalus and Jonathan Riccitelli.
- Also on the ballot are races for U.S. Congress and representatives in the state senate and state house.
