RI Reports 995 New Cases, 17 Deaths, Over 17K Vaccinated

CRANSTON, RI โ The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 995 new COVID-19 infections and 17 deaths in Wednesday's data and noted that over 17,000 residents have now received the first dose of the vaccine.
Wednesday's data brings the total number of COVID-19 cases statewide to 87,949 and the total number of deaths to 1,777.
The state administered 13,060 tests on Tuesday and currently has a daily positivity rate of 7.6%.

As of Dec. 30, 426 COVID-19 patients remain hospitalized, with 61 in the ICU and 47 using ventilators.
