Sneak-Peek at New Dave's Marketplace Coming to Pontiac Avenue

The buzz has been all about the new Dave's Marketplace and when the opening will be. The mayor will tour the new store Tuesday.

CRANSTON, RI—The wait is almost over. Tuesday, Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung takes an up-close look at the new Dave’s Marketplace under construction on Pontiac Avenue near Rolfe Square on Tuesday. The store is expected to open later this month.

When the doors do open for business at 550 Pontiac Ave., the new Dave's will mark "the return of a full grocery store to the Pontiac and Rolfe Square neighborhoods and serves as another symbol of Cranston’s steady economic growth under Mayor Fung’s leadership," his office said.

Mayor Fung and representatives from Dave’s Marketplace will be at the site tomorrow afternoon for a "Sneak-Peek." The building was a Seabra Foods market, which closed in 2015.
