The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority has detoured 17 routes for the duration of the worker's strike at Stop & Shop. While regular service will continue, buses will not stop directly in front of stores due to safety concerns. Riders who usually use these stops are encouraged to find an alternative stop nearby.

Routes 9, 14, 17, 27, 28, 29, 33, 34, 54, 56, 63, 64, 66, 71, 75, 78 and 92 are affected by the strike detour. Bus drivers have been told to look for passengers waiting in these areas and stop for them even if they are not at a designated bus stop.

"We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank everyone for their patience at this time. Safety remains our top priority," RIPTA officials said in a statement.
