Suspect Broke Into ATM, Struck Cruiser While Fleeing: Cranston Police
Someone wearing a ski mask in a dark-colored minivan pried open an ATM in the drive-thru at the Citizens Bank on Atwood Avenue.
CRANSTON, RI — Cranston police are looking for a person they said broke into an ATM Tuesday night and struck a police cruiser when speeding away to evade officers.
According to police, someone wearing a ski mask in a dark-colored minivan pried open an ATM in the drive-thru at the Citizens Bank on Atwood Avenue. Police said the incident happened just before 10:30 p.m.
While the ATM was opened, police said it didn't appear the suspect got away with any money from it.

When officers arrived, the suspect sped away and struck a marked cruiser on Dyer Avenue, police said. Police said the vehicle was found abandoned on Franklin Avenue later that night.
Officers searched the area and brought in a K-9 unit. Police said they were looking for two suspects, but have yet to find them.
