Suspected Of Driving Under the Influence, Cranston Man Had Child In Car: State Police

State police say a 3-year-old girl was in the back seat.

CRANSTON, RI—State police arrested a Cranston man after several callers reported an erratic driver on I-95 South in West Greenwich. Roy Jann, 36, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs with a child in the vehicle; refusal to submit to a chemical test; and possession of a controlled substance, Oxycodone.

He was taken into custody about 10:25 a.m. last Friday, state police said.

When troopers stopped the car, they found a 3-year-old girl in a child restraint in the back seat. Police said Jann told the troopers he was taking his girlfriend’s daughter to daycare in Warwick at the time, but had gotten lost.
