The American Legion

An honor to swear in general officers for The American Legion, Department of Rhode Island and the American Legion Auxiliary, which held its annual Boys' and Girls' State Program.  

This a one-week course on the workings of the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of government.  

The students, all high school juniors, form their own political parties, formulate platforms, and conduct spirited campaigns for public office.  

Today, students are running their own legislative session at the State House!
