Thousands Vote Early In RI 2022 Primaries: See How Many Per City, Town
As of Tuesday, East Providence has seen the most voters head to the polls early.

RHODE ISLAND — Early voting for the 2022 primary election began last week in Rhode Island, and as of noon Tuesday, more than 3,200 Ocean Staters have already cast their ballot.
Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea once again is providing daily updates on voter turnout through the Voter Turnout Tracker data visualization tool. The data visualization will also be updated hourly on the day of the primary election, Sept. 13, with the number of votes cast at each polling place. Secretary Gorbea upgraded Rhode Island to electronic poll books in 2018, streamlining the check-in process at polling places.
"Voters, candidates, and the general public should be able to quickly access election turnout data that is clear and easy to understand," Gorbea said in a statement. "This level of transparency shows that Rhode Island’s elections are an open process that voters can absolutely trust."
