Washington Trust Opens New Plainfield Pike Branch

The country's oldest community bank now has three Cranston branches.

Washington Trust opened the doors to its third Cranston branch last week at 2174 Plainfield Pike.

The new branch will serve residents in western Cranston and is part of the $3 billion corporation's gradual expansion in Rhode Island.

The bank has taken a slow but steady approach to its business and is the oldest community bank in the United States, founded in 1800.

The new, 3,600 square-foot branch features four teller stations, two customer service areas, walk-up ATM, two drive-up lanes, a night deposit safe and a drive-up ATM.

Washington Trust is continuing our expansion in Rhode Island," stated Joseph J. MarcAurele, Washington Trust Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "Earlier this year, we opened a new Home Loan Center in Warwick, RI to meet the mortgage needs for homeowners in the State. Today, we celebrate the opening of our Plainfield Pike branch serving the needs of residents and businesses of Western Cranston, RI."
