Weekend Weather Update: Several Inches Of Snow On The Way
A sudden shift in the forecast means March is coming in like a lion.

Just one day after predicting light snow with little to no accumulation over the coming weekend, the National Weather Service has shifted its forecast to potentially some of the highest snow accumulation totals Rhode Island has seen in 2019.
A mixture of snow and sleet is expected Friday night into Saturday morning, before changing over to snow through the late afternoon. The Northeast region is expected to have the highest accumulation, with three to four inches expected in Providence. The western half of the state is expected to receive between two and three inches of snow.
Sunday is expected to be sunny with temperatures in the low 40s, but the nice weather won't last. More snow is on the way, with as much as three to five inches of new accumulation possible.
