West Warwick Man Killed In Cranston Motorcycle Crash: Cops

The motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into a utility pole, police said

CRANSTON, RI — A West Warwick man was killed when he crashed a motorcycle into a utility pole in Cranston, police said.

Kou Lee, 44, was operating a 2025 Harley-Davidson
Sportster Revolution Max motorcycle on Niantic Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m. when he "failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, striking the curb before colliding with a utility pole near the entrance to the Lang's Bowlarama parking lot," the Cranston Police Department said in a media release.

"The motorcycle then continued riderless before tumbling and
coming to rest in the parking lot of Graybar," according to the release.

"Mr. Lee, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle during the crash," the release said.

Lee was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 9:45 p.m., according to the release.

Lee was traveling "at a high rate of speed" at the time of the fatal wreck, according to the release.

"The crash scene was processed by the Cranston Police Traffic Unit with assistance from the Department's Bureau of Criminal Identification," the release said. }Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and examining whether speed, impairment, or other contributing factors played a role in the crash."

Police asked any witnesses to contact the department at 401-942-2211.
