White Christmas In RI? It's Possible In A Rainy, Windy Holiday Week

RHODE ISLAND — Some may be dreaming of a white Christmas, and there's a chance they could get it in Rhode Island, even though most of the holiday week is supposed to be temperate and rainy.

According to AccuWeather's forecast, the week leading into Christmas is supposed to be temperate, with temperatures mostly in the 40s, but that should change on Christmas Eve.

On Friday, AccuWeather has forecasted a high of around 30, with wind gusts of up to 30 mph. There's also a 40 percent chance of precipitation in the form of a snow shower. The night is expected to be bitterly cold with a low of around 18.

Christmas Day is also expected to be cold and windy. During the day, expect a high of around 28 and a low of 21 at night. But wind gusts of 18-25 mph may have it feeling like it's in the single digits.

A 98 percent chance of rain and strong winds all day with a high of around 58. Gusts could exceed 50 mph. At night, expect a low of 21, a 40 percent chance of rain and wind gusts of about 40 mph.

Christmas Eve

A high of 30 with periods of clouds and sunshine, along with a 40 percent chance of snow. Wind gusts could reach 30 mph. At night, expect mostly clear skies with a low of 18.
