Wind Gusts Knock Out Power For 7,500 In Rhode Island
Rhode Island Energy reported about 7,500 customers without power, including 1,700 without power in Cranston and another 1,000 in Coventry.
CRANSTON, RI β As expected, power is out for thousands of electric customers in Rhode Island, as blustery weather conditions β including heavy rain and wind gusts moved into the region overnight.
As of 8 a.m., Rhode Island Energy reported about 7,500 customers without power, including more than 1,700 without power in Cranston, more than 1,000 in Coventry and about 750 in Exeter.
Estimated restoration times ranged from 10 a.m. in Cranston to 2:30 p.m. in Exeter.

The National Weather Service issued another wind advisory around 3 a.m. on Friday, warning of wind between 20 to 30 mph but gusts reaching 65 mph. The advisory is through 7 a.m. on Saturday.
The coastal flood warning in Newport, Portsmouth and Middletown is also in effect until 2 p.m., Friday. Though flooding is expected to be minor.
