After Car Accident: I-95 Lanes Now Open in Warwick

State police have cleared an accident that tied up traffic.

WARWICK, RI - Three people suffered minor injuries in a five-car crash on Interstate 95 around 12:45 p.m. today, resulting in the closure of three of the four lanes of traffic while state police and rescue crews assisted at the scene.

State Police Capt. Matthew Moynihan said the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95, just south of Route 117. Three people were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Captain Moynihan said. The crash was cleared and all four lanes of the highway were reopened to traffic by 2:45 p.m.
