• West Warwick Man Charged With DUI After Crash Probe: Cops (patch.com) — East Greenwich readers are learning more about a weekend crash on Route 4 that led to a DUI charge for a 20-year-old West Warwick man. State police say the early-morning investigation in East Greenwich resulted in his arrest, processing at the Wickford barracks, and release to a responsible adult after arraignment.    

• Police Log: Faux $4,900 Invoice, 85 in 35 Zone (eastgreenwichnews.com) — Recent East Greenwich police reports include a fake $4,900 invoice email spoofing the town Planning Board and multiple DUI arrests on local roads. Officers also handled domestic-violence warrants, a possibly rabid raccoon, and several disputes at homes and businesses, offering a snapshot of current public safety issues around town.    

• McGaw pushes to ban plastic-waste 'advanced recycling' in R.I. as EPA weighs looser pollution rules (whatsupnewp.com) — State Rep. Michelle McGaw is pushing a bill to ban new high-heat plastic-waste “advanced recycling” facilities statewide, citing health and environmental risks. She points to the 2021 fight over a proposed pyrolysis plant on the West Warwick–East Greenwich border as proof Rhode Islanders don’t want such operations near homes, schools, or sensitive areas.
