Today, Donovan Travel announced that they’re gearing up to assist Rhode Island travelers “Travel Better,” now that 4 of its travel agent experts have just returned from Dallas, site of the 2012 Travel Leaders National Meeting. Owner Judy Clappin, Business Development Director Thomas Mieczynski, Operations Manager Leslie Parenteau, and Marketing Coordinator Samantha Spano represented Donovan Travel at the exclusive industry convention, which drew nearly 600 leading travel agents and industry representatives.
According to Clappin, President of Donovan Travel, the meeting theme “Ridin’ High” underscored the success that Travel Leaders has enjoyed in improving the travel experience for its clientele nationally. But the brand’s newly-announced tagline “Travel Better” includes a refreshed promise that Donovan Travel will continually work to further enhance that experience.
“We’re confidently telling our local clients here in Rhode Island, ‘We get you.’ We get their individual wants and needs in a way no online site ever can replicate, and we do so proudly as a local business contributing to the area’s economy here in RI,” noted Clappin.

At the 2012 National Meeting, Donovan Travel was proud recipient of the “Agency Of Excellence” Award which is presented to only the very top associates across the country, recognizing superior customer service, growth and innovation. In addition to winning the Agency of Excellence award, two Donovan Travel agents also received awards. Kris Levy received her Certified Leisure Travel Specialist award while Kim Sgambato received her Certified Business Travel Specialist award.
“Attending the Travel Leaders National Meeting in Dallas not only helped further crystalize our value proposition, but it reinforced our commitment to ensure our clients truly ‘Travel Better.’ Among our takeaways from Dallas, we’re most excited about new marketing ventures, better offers from suppliers, and the newly launched Agent Profiler, which highlights agents based on specialties and gives clients looking for a more focused vacation the chance to connect on a more personal level.

Clappin also noted that as with every Travel Leaders National Meeting, attendance this year gave them an opportunity to experience another key domestic destination, which translates to further knowledge that they can provide RI travelers who may be traveling to Dallas.
“We not only took in all that the Travel Leaders National Meeting had to offer, but we also took advantage of opportunities to get a taste of Dallas, too,” Clappin explained. “In addition to the newly-renovated Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion, which overlooks Dallas’ historic Dealey Plaza, we also had the opportunity to experience the Circle R ranch.”
