Applicants Sought For A Variety Of Town Boards, Commissions

Town Clerk Leigh Botello actively seeks candidates for vacancies

It turns out you don’t have to run for office to get involved in town governance. Town Clerk Leigh Botello is looking for people to apply for a number of vacancies on town boards. There are openings on boards from the Affordable Housing Commission to the Zoning Board.

“We’re very luck in East Greenwich to have people who have been interested in participating on boards,” said Town Council President Michael Isaacs. “The Town Council values citizen participation on these boards and encourages those who are interested to apply.”

For information about specific boards - what exactly they do, how often they meet - refer to this page on the town’s website. Applications are also available there. The Town Council reviews applications and decides whether or not to interview candidates. Votes on actual appointments are made during Council meetings.
