Avenger Football: EG Clinches Win Against Moses Brown, 18-13
EG played with passion and resolve, coming back from a 13-12 deficit in the fourth quarter.
The East Greenwich football team rallied to win at Moses Brown Saturday 18-13. The Avengers played with passion and resolve, coming back from a 13-12 deficit in the fourth quarter.
EG jumped out to an 12-0 lead, as senior QB Dan Miner connected on touchdown passes to Kyle Palmer and Peter Hunziker, both juniors. Moses Brown rallied back in the second quarter, scoring twice in a five-minute span with a effective on-side kick. The Avengers went into halftime down 13-12, and coming off a three-game losing streak.
However, the maroon-and-white were undaunted, and the defense held Moses Brown scoreless in the second half. Senior Jeff Zeldin led the way for the front four, with three tackles for losses. The play of the defense, combined with great punting by Hunziker, kept Moses Brown deep in their own territory for much of the half.
