Avenger Volleyball Team Drops Match To S. Kingstown

The East Greenwich Boys’ Volleyball team had a tough evening against South Kingston Monday night.  The Avenger team lost 19-25, 20-25 and 19-25, but it was the loss of senior captain Jake Kane to an injury that made it that much harder.

Coach Jones was impressed with how the team responded after Jake’s injury.

The team really rallied behind Jake and they played with intensity. Coach Jones thought Mike Battey and Dan Shawver stepped up to lead the team.

Battey transitioned to left side hitter and Eli Brown to setter and ran the 5-1 offense, which is what Jake usually does.

The Avenger volleyball team will travel to Coventry on Tuesday night with action beginning at 6:30 p.m.
