Bus Drivers and Support For Sandy's victims
Appreciation for school bus drivers focusing on helping Sandy's victims.
Earlier this week, I read in the Patch of the school bus drivers with Ocean State Transit, how one asked for a bus to bring donations to Sandy's victims and now the company is paying for the fuel for four buses. I went through my house and bagged a lot of clothes and blankets, took them to the OST center behind Richard's Pub on South County Trail. I was greeted by a group of warm and grateful drivers so focused on helping others.
When I returned home, I received an email with a link (from a daughter-in-law in Maryland) to a video of the devastation in Island Park on Long Island, her birthplace and site of her former family home. Her parents sold this home just a few years ago to move closer to her. I cannot help but realize that I, too, live on a coastline, right off of Narragansett Bay. There go I but for the grace of G-d.
