How do we know when we should invest time and energy changing what we don't like,  as opposed to accepting what is.

We all have different intelligences, talents, abilities, bodies.....you name it.  Change, in some form, is always an option.  So is acceptance.

So what's reasonable.  Should you declare yourself a BBW (big beautiful woman) and accept yourself as is, or embark on weight loss and exercise programs?  Should you go back to school so that you'll be better educated and more skilled, or are you content with the status quo?  Do you want to perform at Carnegie Hall, or be in the Olympics,  or are you satisfied with your current level of practice and performance?  There's a continuum for all these things.

 

At the end of the day, it comes down to what makes us happy and content in our lives.  And what we have the energy to do.

 

It's a choice.  If we're honest with ourselves, and we're happy, then we've found the right spot on the continuum.  Hopefully with no regrets.
