Eighteen Local Soccer Players in National Championship Tournament
Several local youth soccer players to compete in prestigious national tournament

The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series is coming to Kingston, Rhode Island on June 27th to July 2nd. The Championship is part of the country's most prestigious national youth soccer tournament. Eighteen players from East Greenwich, Warwick and West Greenwich will be competing in this Regional Tournament representing the Bruno United Soccer Club as RI State Champions in their respective age groups.

From East Greenwich : Taylor Denuccio, Emma Fleming and Laura Murphy will be competing at the U13 Girls level, while Zachary Grumbach and Alfred Timperly will compete at the U12 Boys level. Geoffrey Grumbach will compete as a member of the Bruno U14 Boys team.
From Warwick : Emily Ponte joins the U13 Girls at the tournament, while 7 girls will play for the Bruno U18 team, including : Cara Beneduce, Clare Birney, Talia D'Ambruso, Erica Hammond, Larissa Paolantonio, Nicole Starkey and Megan Sullivan; Niall Blackadar (U12 Boys) and Lucas Gesmundo (U14 Boys)

From West Greenwich : Both Jaime Ratteni and Rylee Snow are members of the Bruno U13 Girls State Champions representing RI in the tournament.
The Championships are a competition of the US Youth Soccer State Champions from 15 Eastern states, including the recently crowned Rhode Island teams. Following individual state tournaments, the Regional Championships are the second step of the US Youth Soccer National series. Winners of the tournament advance to the National Championships in Overland Park, Kansas later this summer.
The tournament will attract more than 260 boys and girls teams, ages Under-12 through Under-19 from the 15 Eastern US Region 1 Associations (CT, DE, Eastern NY, Eastern PA, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, Western NY, RI, VT, VA and WVA).
With more than 17,000 youth soccer players in RI, Bruno United Soccer Club attracts and trains the best players in the area. The Club's Director, John Tomlinson of Portsmouth, is confident the Bruno teams will be successful at the tournament. "This is what we work for all year. Our players are well prepared and really excited about facing off against some great teams."
