Hi ... remember me? Yeah. So sorry about my unresponsiveness for the past month. In my defense, I went through my first hell month as a junior. And it was more stressful than any other past hell month by far. Very, very far.
For those of you who don't know, I'll define hell month for you:
Hell month: n, v, and occasionally adj.The period of time in which Divya lives in a delirious haze of school, sports, extracurriculars, and sleep deprivation. Usually occurs during October and March. (See also hell week).

Though this past hell month was ridiculously busy, it's also been one of the most enjoyable, for several reasons. For one, my grandparents and great-grandmother were visiting. Now my grandmother made it her job to read all seven Harry Potter books during her four-month stay. Quite a feat, if I may say so myself. So when she came to stay with us in September, I made it our job to watch the first seven movies. It was entertaining to say the least. Watching my grandmother react to the movies made me remember what it was like for me when I watched them for the first time. Plus first-year Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger are just adorable. Watching these movies proved an important point to me: no matter how stressed I get, Harry Potter can always make it better.
Asides from Harry Potter, this season of cross-country was also the best one of my high school career so far. It's not just that I raced well, which was an added bonus. It's that the team, both girls and guys, became so close over the past couple months. You don't really see that in any other sport at the high school. I've never laughed harder in my life. We've had team sing-a-longs on the bus, in the car, during practices. I've went on blood runs (we run in the woods where there's no path but plenty of prickles) and come out muddy to my knees but smiling like an idiot. I've dressed up like a water bottle for the CVS 5K and gotten lost in Goddard Park during a practice after Hurricane Irene. Even though running is a demanding sport, it's totally worth the bazillion hours of my time.

Lastly come my extracurriculars. I'm a part of the EGHS Student Council and Class Council. As you might recall, Class Council put on a surprisingly successful tailgate, despite the rain. We've been fundraising hard to put on a good prom this coming spring. In Student Council, we put on Spirit Week last week. It went off really well, especially pep rally. Thursday night, I sat in my kitchen making four boxes of jello for the DISGUSTING jello pool we had for the class presidents. I've never been that glad to be a historian for the class. And next week? Next week is Airband, Friday at 7pm. Come for a night of hilarity and entertainment!
So there you have it. My hell month in a nutshell. Now that things have settled down a bit, I'll have more time to blog. I'll try to keep you updated on all the exciting happenings of a high school junior girl. Really. It's gonna be great.
