Issues with Rhode Island Un Employment
R I Unemployment making it difficult to collect benefits
Hi, my name
is Xxxxx Xxxx. I recently had my current Un Employment
claim run out, and when using the on line service, I was instructed to call
462-8990 to see if an extension was available to me. I have a former co worker
who had theirs run out, got the same message, and WAS eligible for extension till the end of the year. Now I may or may not be,
but I am still out of work, and can not get through to the call center to find
out! I've tried all the phone numbers associated with RIDLT,
and no results. The message seems like one of those...."I don't want to
hire enough employees to accommodate the flood" kind
of cop outs! In fact ...I spoke with a call center worker,at the beginning of
my current extension; that I was not aware of, nor was I notified about its
availability to me, and they confirmed..."they don't hire enough people to
accommodates the flood"! Her exact words. Now we
come to this....I need a job! I'm detail oriented, fast paced worker with an
excellent resume in Management, and Technology. You guys obviously
have low end skills workers...I've dealt with them so you can tell me nothing
different.....and could use someone a bit more Tech savvy
to overhaul your Call Center. I'm your guy! Simply put...One shouldn't have to
continually call over and over again to make a solid connection with your Que. Your answer log should be able to connect with your
"waiting line up" without making callers hang up and try again.
Further there would be no need for the Monotone message that " There are
an Extreme amount of calls so we won't be able to take your call right now!"
This , to the general public says that the service they're calling is incompetent to handle simple large numbers of calls. I have a
cheap phone system at my house that can accommodate up to
50 calls waiting, and then conference them when prompted!
You should have a "State of the Art " system for what you do, and if
you do....It's not working properly! I can make it work , as I'm sure there are
many others just like me who are Un Employed and could as
well. I don't think that a 100% effort is being made to accommodate
the Un Employed in Rhode Island! Now I ask…….1st....Is the RIDLT
process Regulated, or Audited for work process and efficiency, or is there just
1 person handling the daily process whom is referred to as "The
Manager"? 2nd.... How " hands on " is the Director? Is she aware
of all happenings and Stats at the Call Center? I address her as She correctly
because I've spoken with her in the past several times. And was not impressed
with her professionalism at all. You would think someone with her position
would have a bit more personality and be a bit more caring about how her
service is run on a daily basis. 3rd....how many Call Center workers are there?
In relation to the number of Un Employed in the State, Do
you feel there are enough? Be careful how quickly you answer.... If you say yes
you'll be responsible to explain why there is such a
delay in process! I'll answer for you....NO! I figure in Rhode Island Government
tradition, your answer would be..."Theres not enough
money in their budget"! Well...there is if you need it. And you know that!
We all Do! When theres enough money in the budget for the
kind of Waste that goes on in this State....there enough to accommodate
all the folks suffering without Jobs due to Horrible management of funds in
this State! Make no mistake about it...The problem with the under development
of Jobs is right outside your office in the State House! The ignorant folks
running this State could care less about Un Employment
stats....all they care about is weather or not it's a Christmas tree or a
Holiday Tree. Do they even hear themselves talk? As long
as the powers that be don't suffer financially, they simply don't care. Lets
face it...with your salary...do you really care about me complaining about
money? Do you really care about the economy? You will when it effects you and
your Family! Till then....just like your neighbors there in the State
House....you'll try hard to wipe the Smirk off your face
as you read this. Well tomorrow when a copy of this letter to you, that will be
forwarded to the Governor, as well as my further comments that will be posted
on EG Patch come out....the smile will go away. I guarantee it! If you choose
to respond to this , or you don't , it won't change the process. Folks in this
State are upset with not only the rate of Job losses, but the fact that the
State of Rhode Island is doing nothing to fix it, or the system that supports
it. I was surprised to find that no one has the courage to stand up and shout!
Well with the gaining of that knowledge I've nominated Myself! Your worst Nightmare....An
Educated Big Mouth who has the Venue! Sincerely, xxxxx xxxx
