It's funny how happy a person can get when it's nice outside. Seriously. The past ten days have been some of the most depressing so far. School is winding down, so it's a sprint til the end. It's been pouring or overcast. All. The. Time. That doesn't exactly make studying that much easier. :P Then again, neither does the nice warm weather. It's a lose-lose situation.
Now that we have the Memorial Day weekend, it truly means school is coming to an end. And to any band rat, this weekend means one thing- the Memorial Day Parade. It's the last parade of the year, the last time we get to put our favorite uniforms on, the last true "concert" we have in band. For me, it makes me think of Obama's inaugural parade. While I wasn't in it, I heard the stories from my brother. Apparently, we were one of the smallest bands there. It was also freezing cold. Metal instruments and below freezing weather means really cold hands and lips. Although this time, we won't be freezing cold. We'll be melting through our thick band uniforms. This should be fun. :P
