Prom Recap

Prom, EGHS, East Greenwich

It all began at 12 o'clock PM. The lucky few of EGHS, mostly upperclassmen, raced for their cars in anticipation. This year, I was one of the lucky few of East Greenwich High School, and a sophomore no less. After the girls cleared the bumper-to-bumper traffic on Avenger, they booked it to . All of them. I'm not exaggerating here. Panera Bread was the most crowded I have EVER seen it, with girls from MY high school, no less. After the wolfing-down of a panini, or in many cases, a salad and an apple, the girl prom-bound population turned out in droves, and fell upon nail salons and hair salons and any other type of salon you could ever imagine.  It was madness.

Me? I did battle my way through Panera Bread, but instead went to get some Beef Lo Mein at my FAVORITE Chinese Place. Then? Off to hair and makeup, done by a genius woman who owns a salon on Main Street. And when I say genius, I truly mean it. The woman made me into a work of art. When all of this was done, the pictures were taken, the goodbyes said, we headed off to Rosecliff Mansion for Junior/Senior Prom 2011.

In a nutshell, the night was amazing.  It was so beautiful there, and all the girls were dressed up, with their dates. And might I say? Boys look SO good in tuxedos. Anyways, everyone had a  great time, even the teachers.  The EG teachers were so cute, all dressed up and dancing. I can name a certain math teacher who caused quite a stir on the dance floor. It was FUN!

Now? I'm headed to a carwash to benefit the sophomore class, for our junior prom NEXT year. It's at Ronzio's from 9-1. I'm going to need some major energy for this endeavor. anyone?

Until next week,
