Spring Fever

The days are longer, the weather warmer, and the school stretch halfway done!

Well. We're officially halfway through that God-Awful-Stretch between February and April vacations. My daffodils are blooming, shorts are coming out, and spring fever has hit the high school. Everyone has those overly-happy-bleary grins on their faces, crowding out in front of the school to feel even a little warmth. It's glorious. After the bitter cold winter we've had, a little warmth is completely necessary. It's certainly enough to raise everyone's spirits at school.

Today was especially special for one specific reason. My English teacher let us go outside for class. The shoes were kicked off, the smiles were wider than ever, and 24 high school-sized bodies were sprawled across the turf field as envious eyes peered out from chemistry windows. So. Great. It made our discussion of modernist literary figures, like Gertrude Stein, that much better. I suppose the sun is everyone's drug of choice right now. After spending 45 minutes outside in the sun, my entire class was energized and ready to go. Unfortunately, this was last period so my sun high couldn't really help me with my math quiz second period.

Spring has always been my season. I love soaking in the gentle warmth, when it's not overbearing or completely absent. That being said, spring is also my weakness. With the weather as perfect as it is, focusing on homework (and SAT's for that matter) is so much harder. Finals are especially excruciating. But that's later. For now, I'm going to ride out the rest of this God-Awful-Stretch and hope for more amazing days.
