I love going to baseball games, I really do. The atmosphere and the food especially, like the incredible hot dogs that don’t seem to taste as good anywhere else. And the fried dough, the Cracker Jacks and ice cream. There’s something to be said for the whole experience, really. The way they always play the Star Spangled Banner, the announcer exclaiming on every hit, pitch, run or dropped ball. It’s impossible to get the same feeling from a TV set compared to a real, live game. And it doesn’t matter, truly, if you’re attending the game of my beloved Red Sox, or just a local Pawsox game, the action is all there.
That’s where I was, on Wednesday, a little to the left of home plate, in the red seats. Those hard, plastic, sticky seats. Woe is the person, like me, who wears shorts to a baseball game in the middle of August. My legs were glued to that seat
like nobody’s business. Ah, summer. Despite the seat situation, I had a great time.
I went with my parents and assorted relatives, to watch the Pawsox defeat the Columbus Clippers, five to two. Going to these games has become a summer tradition, and seeing as McCoy Stadium is only 30 minutes away from my house – a frequent one.

The Pawsox is a great source of summer fun, and a fantastic way to get the big-league experience, without breaking the bank.
Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona. ~George F. Will
